Lots of Progress

After a Wednesday night thunderstorm, we got into work to find that both the server and the network switch had been fried by lightening... You never realize quite how much you use the internet and computers in general until they are unuseable... Luckily I has several meeting scheduled for Thursday and didn't spend very much time in the office. Unfotionately there was not a network switch in town so any hopes of internet access on Friday looked bleak. Luckily we just had a shipment of greenery and pots to keep me entertained. Here are a few of the arrangements that I made before we got internet access hooked back up about 4:00. This week we are waiting to hear a final diagnosis for the server and hopefully will be able to function realatively well even though we will not have access to the majority of our files... including all of our AutoCAD files. I'll keep you posted on how that goes...

This weekend after working my 1/2 day Saturday, I put a coat of paint on the kitchen cabinets and got a ton of scrapbooking done. Here are several of my layouts.

Got it Started...

This week we have been working on the house again. The kitchen has now been washed, sanded and primed once. Last Sunday we had Easter with Jason's family and this Friday we celebrated Savannah's 8th Birthday.

Yesterday we took the kids to the circus and had a blast. Today I have been working on my scrapbook and have finally gotten started on the wedding book. While taking pictures I realized that I hadn't posted any of the previous book (showers and rehearsal) so here are a few of those as well.

Lots of Fun

I didn't realize how much had been going on in the last couple days until I uploaded my pictures to post.
Wednesday night we had to kids. We had lots of fun playing with legos and baking bananna bread and cake.

Here Kiley is mashing nuts for the bannana bread.... can you tell what flavor the cake was?

Caden played with Legos most of the night while Kiley decided to "read" herself a bedtime story.
Which one is the bigger trouble maker?

Today I did some work in the yard.

Here is the front flower bed. I took out three dead/dying plants and put in three day lillies. I also trimmed the shrubs to start the process of making them round again.

Then I used the pile of bricks that we had in the backyard and made a patio for the trash cart and hopefully we will find a few more bricks to extend it under the grill as well.
We aslo had a bunch of random rocks laying around in multiple place so I created a rock garden in one corner of the back yard. The pots actually contain my garden. The small ones hold strawberries and the large one is a raspberry plant.
Tomorrow is Easter with Jason's family.

Finishing up

Tonight I have been finishing up small projects. So tonight is a batch of pictures...

Here is the kitchen completely stripped almost ready to sand. Jason finished sanding all of the doors.

Then I worked on our niece's birthday present. She asked for jewelry so in addition to a necklace I decorated this box for her to keep her special things in.

My sister brought over an aphgan than had developed a hole. She wanted me to try to fix it because grandma made the afghan for her. Here is the spot that I fixed.

And finally a picture from the back yard...

Still on the Market

I just got word that the latest person who made an offer on the house has backed out. My realtor thinks that he just overthought the whole process and talked himself out of it. Either way the house is still for sale and I'm bummed... I was hoping that I could go cut the daffodils and bring them home to enjoy them. I'm waiting to see what happens next....

Is it sold?

Its been one of those messy crazy weeks.

Last Friday night I got an offer on the house. It was two sets of parents buying a house for a girl and her fiance. They offered full asking with $3500 of their closing costs paid and the old tv tower and a pine tree removed. Since we had no clue what the tower or tree would cost we asked to have until Monday evening to respond so that we had a chance to do some research. Saturday we hear back that they really want the house and they might drop the tree and the tower to get a decision from me so that the house didn't go through the open house on Sunday. Late afternoon they came back with a new offer without the tree or the tower but the same money. So Jason and I discussed and countered asking price with 2500 closing costs. They verbially accepted Saturday night and the realtors were going to get all the papers signed on Sunday. The open house was canceled. Sunday morning we get a phone call... they have backed out because they don't think the girl could afford it... The house is back on the market, open house is back on.

The last week we have also been working on stripping the paint back off of the kitchen cabinets. Why you may ask? Because I was given the wrong stripper the first time around. So now that it is no longer the week before the wedding and since they would need redone before we move on, I decided that it was time to finally tackle them again. Now the kitchen is a mess but they are stripped. The next step is to wash them with paint thinner and then we get to repaint them. Thankfully mom came in and helped me strip.

Tonight is the first night all week that hasn't been spent stirpping or making invitations and I am camped out in front of the tv.

Tonight I got a phone call from the realtor...after answering several questions and walking through the house with a potential buyer... we have another offer. It was low and again asked that the tower be removed. We again countered so now we are waiting with our fingers crossed.
